Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. When is Foodhunt?
19 March 2011, 9am – 6pm

2. How does Foodhunt work?
Teams of 4 will travel around the island to look for designated food stalls and eat their food. Once the team has successfully found the correct stall/finished the food, photos have to be taken and points (varies with different stalls) will be allocated. To justify that they have gone to the stalls, participants are supposed to send an SMS to a given number (to be annouced later). Finally, the team will have to make their way back to the ending point before certain timing, and the team that clocks the most number of points wins the game.

3. How do we pay for the food?
Food coupons will be issued to the teams. The teams can then use the coupons to purchase food from the stalls (no cash required).

4. Where/when is the starting/ending point?
Participants will report to NUS Central Forum on 19/03/2011 at 8:30am. The game will start upon instruction and at the end of the game, participants are expected to return to the ending point (not revealed before gameplay; teams will have to solve puzzles along the way to find out the final location.)

5. Will there be someone to guide the team around?
No, there will not be facilitators. Teams are expected to find their way around by themselves, keeping in mind the rules and regulations of the game.

6. Are the food provided vegetarian or halal?
Food provided are mostly not vegetarian or halal. We apologise for this limitation on our part.

7. How do I register for Foodhunt?
There will be a registration booth set up along the AS1 walkway (leading to the Central Library) from 1-3 March 2011, 12-4pm. Interested parties have to fill up a registration form and an indemnity form and submit to our booth.

8. How do I make payment? How much?
Payment of $50 has to be paid in cash and handed to person-in-charge at our Foodhunt booth (along AS1 walkway). All other forms of payment are not accepted.

9. How do we travel around during the event?
Participants have to make their way around using public transport only. Taking of cabs or driving your own car is prohibited.

In any case that the team wants to drive/take a cab, they are allowed to continue visiting the food stalls but their chance of winning prizes will be forfeited (even if they do end up with the most points).

10. How many people can there be in a team? Can non-FASS students join?
Teams are limited to 4 participants each. Non-FASS students are eligible to join.

11. What’s the attire for the event?
Foodhunt t-shirts will be given upon confirmation of registration and participants are expected to wear the official Foodhunt tee on the day of the event.

12. Can I obtain a refund if I want to withdraw before the event?
No, a refund will not be given if the team wants to withdraw before the event.
